Accessibility Statement
Care should feel possible for everyone. Rachel’s Homecare Connection is committed to making this website usable for people of all abilities, including those who use assistive technology.
Our commitment
We believe that the families who need our help most should never be locked out of the page that tells them how we can help. We work to follow widely accepted web accessibility standards and to keep improving as those standards evolve.
Conformance status
This website aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, which are international guidelines published by the World Wide Web Consortium for making web content more accessible to people with disabilities. We strive for substantial conformance, and we are actively improving any areas where the site falls short.
Steps we take
- Sufficient color contrast between text and background.
- Clear, readable typography at comfortable sizes, with the ability to enlarge text in your browser.
- Descriptive alt text for meaningful images, and decorative images marked so screen readers can skip them.
- Keyboard support for the main navigation and interactive elements.
- Semantic page structure (headings, landmarks, lists) to help assistive technology orient the content.
- Visible focus indicators on interactive elements.
- Reduced-motion alternatives for animated effects, honored by your operating system’s “reduce motion” setting.
Compatibility
This site is designed to work with current versions of the major web browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge) on desktop and mobile, in combination with widely used assistive technology such as screen readers and screen magnifiers. Some older browsers or assistive tools may not fully support every feature of the site.
Known limitations
Some sections of the site include images and decorative motion that can be challenging for assistive technology. Where this happens, our text always carries the essential information independently. If you encounter content that is hard to access, please tell us — your feedback drives our improvements.
